Haverhill – Lena M. (Coppola) Dionne, 87, wife of the late Roger A. Dionne, Sr. passed away January 4, 2020 at Penacook Place with her loving son by her side.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Antoinette (Yellum) Coppola. She was raised and educated in the Haverhill School system and lived in Haverhill most of her life. Lena was a foreman at the Chaucer Leather Company as a young woman. She was devoted to her son, Roger Jr., who was her whole life and lived with her. They enjoyed playing Bingo together and were frequent players at all Bingo venues throughout the Merrimack Valley. She was involved in running the ARC Special Needs Bowling League and was instrumental in their monthly dances. Lena was known for her jewelry and beading, gifting many of her creations to family and friends. She will be lovingly missed by all her family, the youngest of 14 siblings, her friends, and especially her son Roger.
Lena is survived by her son, Roger A. Dionne, Jr. of Bradford; her sister Concetta Powers of Tamarac, FL; her nieces and caregivers, Judy Cadorette of Haverhill and Linda Church of Haverhill; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Roger, she was predeceased by 12 siblings.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, January 10 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 7:00PM. Burial will be private. The family would like to thank the staff at Penacook Place for the great care they gave to Lena in the past year.
