Haverhill – Nelly M. Rosa de Tejeda, 76, passed away June 24, 2019 at her home.
Born in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Juan Mescain, Carmen Rosa de Castillo, and her step father Juan Castillo. Raised and educated in the Dominican Republic, she came to the United States in 1962 and worked as a seamstress. Nelly married Cesar H. Tejeda in New York City and then, they moved west to San Francisco where she owned an alterations and dry cleaning business for 15 years. In 1983, she moved to Haverhill, where she raised her three children and owned and operated Nelly’s Bridal Boutique for over 10 years.
Nelly traveled often to Dominican Republic during the New England winters. She was a generous woman who gave to those less fortunate. Nelly enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with her family. Nelly will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nelly is survived by her children, Cesar A. Tejeda of New York City, NY; Geraldo H. Tejeda of Boston; Nelly Y. Tejeda of Coral Springs, FL; her husband, Cesar H. Tejeda of Hollywood, FL; her brother, Juan P. Rosa of Santo Domingo, DR; her beloved grandchildren, Cesar Tejeda and Jesenia Tejeda; and her nephews and two nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, Miguel Rosa.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, June 29 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. May we all look forward to seeing our loved ones like Nelly again when we welcome them back from the grave. Your family will be in my prayers.
