HAVERHILL – Patricia J. Paquette, 77, passed away on Sunday, February 16 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton.

Patricia was born in Haverhill on October 2, 1947 the daughter of Theodore and Lorraine (Demarais) DeRoche. Patricia was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1965 and went on to study at both Bradford College and Northern Essex, eventually earning her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree. Pat flew over to Germany and married Edward in 1967; they honeymooned in Switzerland and drove to England, France and all over Europe in their VW Bug. They saw where the Sound of Music was filmed; and they visited all the sites.

Pat was an avid reader; her favorite was Virginia Woolf. She worked in two libraries, Bradford College and Merrimack College, and also worked for a lawyer, typing papers at home in the dining room. She enjoyed day trips to the beach and the mountains with her loving husband Ed who adored her.

Patricia will be missed dearly by those she left behind, but we are comforted knowing that she is with her mother and father, sister and brothers in Heaven. God bless the doctors, nurses and staff who helped her at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton, as well as her sisters Mikki and Terri who stayed with her many days and slept over to comfort and watch over her.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Edward M. Paquette, and her sons Matthew Paquette and Stephen Paquette both of Haverhill.  She also leaves behind her brother Daniel and his wife Cynthia (Gagnon) DeRoche of Haverhill; and her sisters Kathleen (DeRoche) and George Desmarais of Dalton, MA; Michele (DeRoche) and Ray Snyder of Georgetown, MA; and Theresa (DeRoche) and Mike Desilets of Keene, NH. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Violet Mae Paquette and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by her brothers Theodore DeRoche and Gregory DeRoche, and her sister Lori (DeRoche) Woodsum.
