HAVERHILL – Patricia S. (Cantwell) Ross, 90, of Bradford, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill after a brief illness.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Helen (O’Rourke) Cantwell. She attended Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1952. Over her career Pat was employed as a Secretary in the Respiratory Therapy department at the Hale Hospital and the Haverhill City Clerk’s office and retired from the New England Telephone Company after several years of service. After her retirement she worked for many years at the Poll’s for the City of Haverhill. Pat also served as treasurer for Presidential Gardens in Bradford and volunteered for years at the John Greenleaf Whittier Birthplace and All saints Parish. She enjoyed watching all New England sports teams and college sports and scratching lottery tickets.
Mrs. Ross was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and neighbor. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Daniel and Laura Ross of Sandown, NH, Peter and Geraldine Ross of Clifden, Ireland and her daughter; Ann Marie Schena and her partner, Jason Paiva of Haverhill, cherished grandchildren; Jessica Schena, Jamie Schena, and Sarah Ross, great grandchildren; Kano Leighton and Alivia Leighton, a sister, Erlene Dozibrin of Brentwood, NH and sister in law, Catherine “Kay” Cantwell, of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews. She considered her neighbors at Presidential Gardens as part of her extended family for being so wonderful to her. She was predeceased by her siblings; William Cantwell, Arlene Lyons, Mary “Betty” Uele, Eleanor Kneeland, Dorothy Cantwell, Bernard Cantwell, George Cantwell, Robert Cantwell, Sophie Murphy and Joan Lessard. Her family wishes to thank the staff at the High Pointe Hospice House for their compassion and kindness shown to her and her family.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to a calling hour on Thursday, November 14 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St, Haverhill. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 AM at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Primrose St., Haverhill.
