Haverhill – Richard A. Montebianchi, 89, loving husband of Mary I. (Messina) Montebianchi, passed away peacefully June 9, 2020 at Hannah Duston Healthcare in Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Dominic and Alvaria (Albanese) Montebianchi. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. Richard worked in the Haverhill shoe industry as a shoe cutter for many years. He served his country in the United States Navy and the Marine Reserves and was honorably discharged. In September of 1954 he married the love of his life, Mary. They lived almost inseparable for 65 years sharing a wonderful life and family together.
During high school, he played on the basketball team. Richard loved watching the news and reading the newspaper, keeping up with all the local events. He enjoyed his annual summer vacations to the beach with his family and loved to travel with his wife and friends to Aruba and the Bahamas. A soft-spoken man who had a dry sense of humor, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He never missed a game or event they had. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his loving wife Mary, he is survived by his daughters, Gina Silvio and her husband John of Haverhill; Paula Kelly and her husband Peter of Haverhill; Lisa Mitchell and her husband Michael of Plaistow, NH; Laurie Bouvier and her husband Dean of Epping, NH; nine grandchildren, John Silvio, Melissa Barnes and her husband Robert, James Silvio, Matthew Kelly and his wife Lindsey, Brian Kelly and his wife Jennifer, Kristofer Mitchell and his wife Rachel, Kyle Mitchell and his girlfriend Katy Taylor, Brandon Bouvier and his wife Nicole, Bianca Bouvier and her boyfriend Dan Deeb; five great grandchildren, Thomas and Sean Kelly, Patrick Kelly, Stephanie Barnes, Spencer Barnes and his fiancé Mary, as well as many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends. Richard was predeceased by his sister Marie Montebianchi.Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center and Holy Family Hospital Methuen for the love and care that Richard received.
Funeral services will be private. Family and friends may live stream the services on Thursday, 5:00PM at
