HAVERHILL, MA- Robert Lynch, 91, passed away on Sunday, May 28, at the Wingate Assisted Living Residences in Haverhill.
Robert was born in Marlborough on January 17, 1932, to Michael and Mary (Kennedy) Lynch. He graduated from Saint James High School, Class of 1950 and then went on to attend Bryant and Stratton College in Boston. Robert served proudly in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked for many years at Massachusetts Electric, now National Grid. Robert was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and brother; he enjoyed spending time doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading and walking. Robert’s family would like to thank the staff at Wingate Residences at Haverhill, West River Hospice and American Healthcare Staffing for the wonderful care and compassion they showed him over the years.
Robert is survived by sons Robert A. Lynch and wife Patricia, Portland, Maine, James J. Lynch and wife Lynn, Pepperell, Thomas E. Lynch, Haverhill, John P. Lynch and wife Mary, Haverhill, and Michael F. Lynch and wife Christina, Felton, PA. Grandchildren Michael T., Jennifer, Andrew, Ashley, Allison, Katie, Daniel and Elizabeth Lynch; and great grandchildren Ella Lynch, and Maizy Lynch. He is also survived by brother John Lynch and wife Peggy, Lynnfield, and sister-in-law Gerry Lynch, Worcester.
Robert was the husband of the late Constance (Zing) Lynch. He is also predeceased by brothers Daniel Lynch and his wife Vera and Joseph Lynch.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Friday June 2 at 10:30 AM at St. James Parish, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, 360 Primrose Street, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to The Constance Zing Lynch Fund #156, c/o Haverhill Public Library, 99 Main Street Haverhill, MA 01830.
