OSPREY, FL – Sandra “Sandy” J. (Murphy) Therrien, 73, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, in Gainesville, FL. Sandy was born in Haverhill, MA on June 29, 1951, daughter of the late Daniel R. Murphy and the late Evelyn M. (Clark) Goudeault. Sandy is predeceased by her husband and soul mate, Steven A. Therrien. Sandy is survived by her daughter Stacy L. Roberts and her husband Joseph P. Roberts, Jr., a son Scott Steven Therrien, and a sister Beverly Murphy. Sandy (Nunnie) also leaves behind her grandchildren Patrick J. Roberts, Jeffrey S. Roberts and his wife Maureen, and Kyle A. Therrien. She also leaves behind the latest precious gift to the family, her great granddaughter Ellie Barbara Roberts.
Sandy graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1969. In addition to raising her two children, Sandy sacrificed her life for them, bringing them to all kinds of sporting and social events throughout the early years. Sandy was a kind, caring, loving mother and friend who touched the hearts of so many people that were fortunate enough to be in her life. Sandy was a competitive athlete earning championships in roller skating, tennis, and Pickleball. She also won trips playing tennis in the U.S. Open Equitable Family Tennis Challenge with her husband Steve and daughter Stacy. While living in Ward Hill, Sandy was a member of the Cedardale Health & Fitness for many years where she played tennis before relocating to Florida where she met a whole new group of friends who will miss her dearly. She was an avid pickleball player who also enjoyed playing golf, cards, cornhole, bingo, and cooking and baking with and for the family. Sandy enjoyed life, her time with friends, and most of all her time with her family.
