Haverhill – Sharon M. (Hicks) Fairbrother, 72, of Kingston, NH (formerly of Haverhill, MA) passed away peacefully on May 21, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
Sharon was born in Lynn, MA to the late George and Mary (O’Malley) Hicks. She was a graduate of Peabody High School Class of 1966 and later received her Associates Degree from Northern Essex Community College. Earlier in her career, she was employed at a machine shop where she met her late husband Henry P. “Red” Fairbrother. Most of her career was spent as a Bookkeeper for various companies.
She and Red enjoyed traveling all over the United States and visited many places throughout the years. They also spent many hours watching and discussing the political news of the day. She enjoyed hitting Saturday yard sales and craft fairs as well as spending time with her family. She would also relax and watch her favorite shows on the Hallmark channel.
Widow of the late Henry P. “Red” Fairbrother, she leaves behind her loving children; Julie Salvador of Plaistow, NH, Melissa Hodgdon of Kingston, NH, Dana Hodgdon and his wife Charla of Plano, TX, Harry Fairbrother and his wife Pamela of Danville, NH, and Jeffrey Fairbrother and his wife Susan of Yuma, AZ, her cherished grandchildren; Kyle and Zachary Salvador, Cecilia Russo, Beau, Stephanie, Kristin and Kayla Fairbrother, Elijah Crews as well as a sister, Leslie Detato and her two nephews Christopher Moore and Matthew Detato of Rowley. She was predeceased by her brother, Dana George Hicks.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday, May 27th, from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services for Mrs. Fairbrother will be held on Friday morning at 10:00AM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Walnut Cemetery, Kenoza St. Haverhill.
