DANVILLE, NH – Viola E. (Benjamin) Glennie, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday, September 12 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Viola was born on December 22, 1940 in Nova Scotia, Canada to Robert and Bessie (Foster) Benjamin. She graduated high school and then went on to study at the Chandler School for Women in Boston. Viola was a loving homemaker, but was also passionate about her work as a special needs aide for many years. She loved to do crafts, knitting, baking and enjoyed traveling with her family, especially with her grandsons.  Those who knew Viola know what a special person she was. She will be greatly missed.

Viola will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children David J. Glennie, MA and Karen E. and husband Brian Gatchell, Litchfield, NH; grandchildren Trevor Glennie, Philip Gatchell and his wife Eden, Jonathan Goulet and his wife Daniela and Jeremy Goulet and his wife Rachael; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years John W. Glennie.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, November 9 from 10AM until 11AM, followed by a memorial mass at 11AM at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Haverhill, MA.  Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, MA.
