North Andover – Virginia J. (Tarr) Knowlton, 80, passed away December 29, 2021 at Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers with her loving family by her side.
Born in Middleton, she was the daughter of the late Osmond and Lois (Vance) Tarr. She attended school in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1959. Virginia was employed at Raytheon as an assembler, and moved on to raise her family including her granddaughter Krystal. She enjoyed vacationing in Florida, cooking and playing cards. The Fourth of July Festival in Haverhill was a favorite of Virginia’s. She loved the Boston Bruins and was a season ticket holder for many years; Virginia also looked forward to watching the New England Patriots’ games, when she wasn’t watching all of the game shows she possibly could. Virginia will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Virginia is survived by her children Phillip Knowlton of NH; Barbara Ingham of MA; Cheryl Bruce of MA; her granddaughter Krystal Richard of NH, whom she raised; her brother Richard Tarr of FL; and sisters Lois Parker of NH and Marion Michaud of ME; and several nieces and nephews and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary P. Knowlton and siblings, Osmond Tarr, Billie Tarr, George Tarr, Alberta Lindsey, Mary Parker, Helen Tarr, Marilyn Griffin and Jane Petraglia.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a calling hour on Tuesday, January 4 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11:00AM. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Waverly Rd., North Andover.
