William L. Grady, 75 November 29, 1948 - September 3, 2024

EAST HAMPSTEAD, NH – William L. Grady, 75, loving husband of Elaine (Beaudoin) Grady of East Hampstead, NH passed away on Tuesday, September 3 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen after a two year battle with cancer.

William was born in Lowell on November 29, 1948, the son of Arthur and Rita (Therrian) Grady. He was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1966, after which he joined the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was awarded the distinguished Flying Cross and was honorably discharged in 1970. After Vietnam Bill joined the US Postal Service where he was a carrier, supervisor and eventually retired as a New Hampshire Postmaster. As a supervisor Bill was president of NAPS, Branch 498 – the National Association of Supervisors and was also a member of NAPUS – the National Association of Postmasters. After retirement from the Postal Service, Bill worked at Derry District Court as a supervisor, at Sagamore Golf Club, and also worked security at the Whittier Vocational Technical in Haverhill.

Bill and his wife Elaine enjoyed wintering in Florida in their early retirement. Bill had many friends and was a dear friend to all. He enjoyed breakfast once a week with his boys and playing golf with his friends at Sagamore Golf Club in Hampton. Bill had a great love for music and played in a couple of local bands in the Lowell area. He was a member of the Hampstead, NH VFW and the American Legion in Haverhill. He was a proud veteran. Bill loved to gather with family and friends for celebrations of every kind.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Elaine (Beaudoin) Grady of East Hampstead, NH, his stepdaughter Holly Lagarde and her husband Jim Emmert of Pelham, NH, and his three sisters Linda Sunderland, Diane Cathcart, and Patty Grady Hilton. He also leaves behind four nephews and one niece. Bill was predeceased by his parents, his stepson Mark Lagarde and his brother-in-law Paul Sunderland.

    To my big brother. I am going to miss you so much. Especially with are conversations about golf and you trying to help me understand what my handy cap was.. Well I still don’t know what it is..I will cherish so many of you and will hold them all close to my heart. I just wish we had more time. Rest in Peace brother.     To my big brother. .With 14 years between us, you were like a giant to me. Always bigger and much older than me. I spent my life chasing after you for your attention . Lots of time went by but we always were connected. If we did not see each other for a while, it never mattered we enjoyed what time we had. When I saw you in March you said lets do this again. Well we are still getting together for my birthday and I will set a place just for you. Say hi to mom and dad for us. If you feel like it I am sure Dad would love to hear you sing my way one more time. I love you.. Your baby sis.
