Patricia A. (Simard) Goodrich, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on March 1, 2026 at High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA, just shy of her 89th birthday. 

Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Francis A. and Caroline (Strezlek) Simard and attended St James School. Pat was a faithful parishioner of St. Luke’s the Evangelist Parish in Plaistow, NH.  

Pat began her career in the leather industry as a Production Assistant and through dedication and determination, rose to become Executive Vice President, General Manager of Chaucer Leather Corporation in Haverhill. She was a true trendsetter and respected woman in business. Pat was known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence. She even brought her beloved Shar-Pei, Tobina to work with her each day, something that brought her great joy.

She and her husband Paul made their first home together at Andrews Air Force Base while Paul was stationed there. They later returned to Haverhill to build their life and raise their family. Pat enjoyed traveling with her family to Las Vegas and Atlantic City, where she frequently attended live performances by renowned entertainers such as Elvis Presley and Wayne Newton. Above all, Pat cherished her family. Her strength, love, and devotion to those she cared about, most defined her life.

She is survived by her daughter Diane Rametta and her husband Michael of Haverhill, MA, her daughter Susan Collins and her husband Daniel of Haverhill, MA, her grandchildren Christine Rametta and her fiancé Jim Maikowski of Manchester, NH, Lauren Medina and her husband João of Methuen, MA, Remy Collins and her partner Rafe Penney of Haverhill, MA and Logan Collins and her fiancé Jeremy Collado of Salem, NH. She is also survived by her adored great-grandsons Tyler Medina, Harrison Penney and Maxwell Penney; her sister Irene McAvoy of Haverhill, MA, her brother-in-law Bernard McDonald of Kingston, NH and many nieces and nephews. She had a deep love for animals and leaves behind her family’s numerous beloved pets, especially Logan’s cherished dog, Roger. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Paul Goodrich, her sisters Donna McDonald and Joyce Kissel and her brothers in law, Vincent Kissel and Alan McAvoy. Pat will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

    I’m so sorry to hear this news. Grammy Pat was always so nice to me, she was a very kind woman. I always remember her laughing Rest in peace, Pat.
