Richard E. Blinn of Jupiter FL, formerly of Haverhill and Groveland, MA and Hampton, NH, passed away August, 01, 2012 in Jupiter.Born in Haverhill, September 22, 1925, he was the son of Leo and Mary (Dennehy) Blinn. Predeceased by his sister, Helen Beauregard in 2011 and wife, Mary in 1989. His survivors include his daughter, Patricia Carlman and granddaughter Kali Wallace of Jupiter and son Brian of Boynton Beach, FL and Boston. Also survived by his first wife, Winifred Blinn and son in law Steve Ramey, both of Florida and brother in law Roland Beauregard of Bradford. Richard was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1943. He was also a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he later received an honorary doctorate of science. A WWII veteran, Richard proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines on troop transport ships.Richard started his career as a plumbing and HVAC contractor in the Merrimack Valley. He later became a developer of hotels, apartments, and office buildings in Massachusetts and New Hampshire including the current Best Western Hotel, CVS and Pentucket Bank buildings on Haverhill’s Lowell Avenue. Richard was always generous with time and treasure to charities in Florida, Massachusetts, and New HampshireFriends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday, August 8, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Rd. Hampton, NH. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Storey Ave. Newburyport. Memorial donations may be made to in his name to the charity of one’s choice.
