Rita S. (Dick) Shaw, 88, of Atkinson, NH, formerly of Haverhill, died Thursday, December 27, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late, William J. and Orise M. (Goudreault) Dick. Educated in Haverhill Schools, she was a Graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1942.Mrs. Shaw began her career in the local shoe industry. She then went to work at Western Electric in North Andover as a coil winder and process checker, retiring in 1980.An avid crafter, she and her late sister Janet Merrill were always collaborating on different craft projects, whether it be knitting, crocheting, or making Christmas Trees.Rita and her late husband, Robert loved traveling. They wintered in South Carolina, summered in the mountains of Grafton, NH, and would settle for awhile in between trips back in Atkinson to catch up with family and friends.The widow of Robert W. Shaw, who died in 1995, she leaves her loving daughter and son in law, Susan and Robert A. Gagne, of Merrimac six grandchildren Laura Ulibarri, Leo Rondeau, Rita Rondeau, Kimberly Tannian, Jessica Wilkey, and Stephyn O’Leary ten great grandchildren Sarah, James, Casandra, Christian, Collin, Connor, Lilly, Heaven, Alden, and Quinn one great grandchild, Makaela, a brother Alvin W. and his wife, Alice I. (Glover) Dick, of Plaistow a sister Theresa M. Kamberalis, of Haverhill, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, James P. O’Leary, a daughter, Eleanor Rondeau, a brother Leonard Dick, and sister, Janet Merrill.Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service on Monday, December 31, at 1:00 PM in the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. A period of visitation will precede the service from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
