Robert D. Maffeo

Haverhill – Robert D. Maffeo, 78, husband of the late Norma J. (Blatchford) Maffeo, passed away on May 5, 2020 just 2 days after his birthday at the Sutton Hill Center in No. Andover.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Angelo A. and Madelyn (Porcella) Maffeo. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1960. A long haul truck driver for many years, he travelled the country. Bob loved to play 45’s and travel to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Foxwoods. Every Sunday was spent travelling to find different places to dine throughout New England. Bob was a past president and long- time member at the Victor Emanuel Lodge #1646 of the Sons of Italy. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus of Haverhill. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be missed by his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his children, Dianne and Peter Aziz of Merrimac; Christine and Al Goldstein of Atkinson, NH; Roger and Debra Maffeo of Haverhill; Robin Gulubicki of Atkinson, NH; Andrea Maffeo of CA; his grandchildren, Eric and Nicole Goldstein, Matthew and Emily Goldstein, Alicia Taylor, Shane Maffeo, Sarah Goldstein, Brianna and Ashley Twomey, Abigail Gulubicki; his great grandchildren, Evelyn and Drew, Ayden, Rylee and Luke; sisters, Theresa Chute and Madelyn Young, both of Haverhill; a brother, Michael Maffeo of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his loving wife, he is predeceased by his son Angelo A. “Tony” Maffeo and his brother, Joseph Maffeo.

Due to the current healthcare crisis, a celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.     I’m very sorry to hear about mike’s passing. I grew up with him in East Hampstead. Over the years we would bump into each other once in awhile in Haverhill and he would talk about his children and grandchildren. I’m so sorry for your loss. Kim
