Robert Edward Blundell, 71, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, with his loving family by his side at High Pointe Hospice House after a long and courageous illness.
Born on July 7, 1954, in Melrose, Robert was the beloved son of the late Edward and Ruth (McKelvey) Blundell. He graduated from Malden High School in 1972 and went on to build a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and quiet strength. Robert dedicated many years of his career as a truck driver, retiring from Gillette and Haverhill Steel. He took pride in his work and the life he built through determination and perseverance. Above all, Robert was a family man. He is survived by his devoted wife, Christine Blundell of Haverhill, MA, with whom he shared countless cherished memories, from tending their garden to taking long rides together. He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures: sitting by the fire pit with a cigar and a drink, reading, and cheering on the Boston Bruins. Most of all, he treasured the time spent with his family—especially his many beloved grandchildren.
Robert is lovingly remembered by his children: Raina Blundell, Courtney Blundell, and Colleen Blundell-Rosales and her husband Luis Rosales; and his stepchildren, John Regan and his wife Katrina Regan, and Brittany Regan Fisher and her husband Matthew Fisher. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Rayana, Deanna, Isaac, Destiny, Anahlise, Violet, Jameson, Callen, Lillian, Theodore, Amara, Caroline, and Cameron, and a cherished great-grandfather to his great-granddaughter, Lilliana. His face would light up at the mention of any of his grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Robert is also survived by his siblings: David Blundell and his wife Cheryl, Susan Cardone and her husband Franny, and William Blundell, along with many loving nieces and nephews who will forever remember his warmth and steady presence.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Ruth (McKelvey) Blundell, and his niece, Tiffany Blundell.
Robert will be remembered for his strength, his deep love for family, his steady guidance, and the comfort of his presence. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished so dearly and in the countless memories shared around the fire pit, in the garden, and gathered together in laughter and love.

I am so sorry for your loss. Robert sounds like he was a wonderful man who truly cherished his family and the simple joys of life. My uncle was also a truck driver for many years and always talked about retiring to somewhere warmer like Spain to enjoy his gardening and the sun. We’ve actually been looking into the logistics of that for my aunt lately, but we’re a bit stuck on the paperwork. Does anyone here happen to know if a document like the one from https://e-residence.com/nl/nie-spain-online/ is required for a spouse to handle estate or property matters over there, or is that strictly for people moving permanently? Sending love and strength to the Blundell family during this difficult time.
Robert you were a wonderful Brother in law we had some great times REST IN pieces Prayers too you your family
