Robert A. Foucault, 77, of the Bradford section of Haverhill, died Tuesday, August 2, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.He was born in Haverhill, March 15, 1934, the son of the late, Arthur and Augustine (Petit) Foucault. He attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a Graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1952. A Korean War Veteran, Bob enlisted into the Navy shortly after graduation, he then would proudly serve for the next four years until his honorable discharge in 1956. He returned to his studies and earned his Degree in Accounting at Bentley College.Mr. Foucault was employed as a Systems Analyst for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts for over twenty years in the Boston office. He then became a consultant for Pentucket Medical Associates here in Haverhill, and would work seasonally for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover.During his spare time he enjoyed bowling and was a member of the St. Joseph’s Bowling League for over fifty years. He was always puttering around his house, making new projects for himself, and worked tirelessly on researching his family tree.A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he leaves his beloved wife of forty-five years, Dorothy E. (Comeau) Foucault, of Bradford, two daughters, Deborah E. Foucault Etheridge and her husband Aris, of Leverett, MA, and Darlene E. Osterman, of Haverhill, cherished grandchildren, Tabitha E. Bartlett, and her husband Allen Jr, Marc A. Camarato, Warren D. Osterman, Aiden Foucault Etheridge, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Arthur A. Foucault, Richard N. Foucault, and Helen V. Pleau.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Thursday, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sacred Hearts Church, South Main St. Bradford. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, East Broadway, Haverhill. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the charity of one’s choice.
