Haverhill – Robert E. Greenwood, 84, husband of Mary A. (Flaherty) Greenwood passed away on Friday, September 11th at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen surrounded by his loving family.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late George and Lorraine (Villers) Greenwood. He was raised in Haverhill and attended Haverhill public schools. Robert began his career in the Haverhill shoe industry then moving on to the Western Electric for many years retiring from Lucent Technologies. He vacationed on Nantucket every year for twentytwo years. He loved gardening and reading. Robert was a kind, caring gentleman he loved traditions, and cherished family gatherings on St. Patrick’s Day and Christmas. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.In addition to his loving wife of sixty-one years, he is survived by his children, Mary E. Carrasquillo and her husband Jaime of Salem, NH Patricia E. Lane and her husband Jeffrey P. of Methuen and Kathleen A. Abromovitch and her husband John P. of Haverhill six grandchildren, Jason R. Carrasquillo, Amy E. Carrasquillo, Daniel R. Lane, Michael P. Lane, Cory P. Abromovitch and Cameron R. Abromovitch his siblings, Joan Lavalley of Amelia Island, FL Roberta Vuytowecz of Alton Bay, NH Sandra Grandmaison of Haverhill Sheila Mendelsohn of Georgetown Linda Spero and Raymond Karigan of Bradford and Laurence and Marie Greenwood of Haverhill. He was predeceased by his siblings, George Greenwood, Frederick Greenwood, Richard Greenwood, Lorraine Mottram and Jeannette Briton.Friends and family are respectfully invited to calling hours on Monday, September 14th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 165 South Main Street, Haverhill.
