Shawn Michael Ambrose, 36, of Haverhill, died unexpectedly, on Thursday, December 15, at his home.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of, Patricia J. Ambrose, and Edward N. Plaisted. He attended Haverhill public schools and Haverhill High School. A self employed mason by trade he worked for various contractors throughout the Merrimack Valley.As a young man, Mr. Ambrose was involved in the Haverhill Boxing Club. He trained with hopes of one day becoming a Golden Glove Champion. He had a special place in his heart for animals, especially dogs. Living in Florida for over five years, he owned and operated “Scratch-em-up” kennel where he bred and raised Pit Bull Terriers that were prized by enthusiasts of the breed.He leaves two beloved daughters, Alicia M. and Arianna P. Ambrose, of Unity, NH, his mother, Patricia J. Ambrose, of Haverhill, and her partner in life, Kevin Closs, of Hampton, NH, a brother, Edward LaPierre, of Rochester, NH, two sisters, Stacy and Katie LaPierre, his father, Edward N. Plaisted, and his significant other, Rita LaPierre, all of Milton, NH, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His kindness, compassion, and loyalty to his family and friends will be deeply missed.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday, from 5 until 7 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home following the period of visitation. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shawn M. Ambrose Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 2291, Hampton, NH 03843-2291.
