Merrimac – Susan M. (Bick) Speed, 56, of Merrimac, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Anna Jaques Hospital surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.Born in Merrimac, was the daughter of Margaret J. (Sauvy) and the late, William K. Bick Sr. She attended Merrimac public schools and attended Pentucket regional High School.Primarily a homemaker, Susan was her family’s caregiver. She visited with her mother daily and made sure her needs were taken care of. She was a strong, courageous, giving person. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Most of all she cherished her time spent with family and especially her grandchildren.A devoted mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, she leaves her loving daughter, Peggy L. Bick and her fiancé, Peter Schonback, of Somersworth, NH, her mother, Margaret J. Bick, of Merrimac, two brothers, William K. Bick Jr. and his wife, Lois, of Brentwood, NH, and Robert J. Bick, of Salem, NH, a sister Donna E. Bick, of Merrimac, three grandchildren, Jamie S. Bick, Hannah V. Miller, and Faith N. Schonback, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, William K. Bick Sr., and sisters, Ginger Bick, and Ruth Bick-Gamble.Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend a Graveside Service for Susan on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Locust grove Ave. Merrimac, MA.
