Vincent DeSimone

Vincent A. DeSimone, 91, of Haverhill, died Sunday, August 7, at his home after being stricken ill suddenly.Born in Haverhill, he was the only son of the late, Vincenzo and Pasqualina “Bessie” (Bevilacqua) DeSimone. He attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a Graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1938. He then furthered his education by attending McIntosh Business School in Boston. He was a lifelong member of St. James Parish and member of St. James Holy Name Society. His other memberships included the Haverhill Elks, and Haverhill Country Club. He served as House Committee Chairman at the country club and was instrumental in the planning and rebuilding after a fire in the 1960’sFor over sixty years, Mr. DeSimone was employed in the local paper industry. The majority of his career was spent in sales for the Star Paper Company in Haverhill and still working at the age of 91. He was most recently employed with the J. Stone Paper Company in Lynn.A man devoted to his faith and family, he was the widower of Margaret M. (Rice) who died in 2007. He leaves his beloved daughters and their husbands, Patricia D. and John E. “Jack” Halloran, and Joanne M. and Joseph J. Giampa, all of Haverhill, cherished grandchildren, Adria Durkin and her husband Richard, of Atkinson, NH, and Anthony Giampa and his wife, Jennifer, of Chelmsford, great grandchildren, Jake and Jared Durkin, and Avalena and Natalia Giampa. He was predeceased by his uncle, Francis Bevilacqua.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday, from 4 until 7 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home will a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, North Broadway, Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701-4680 or Fr.
