HAVERHILL – Ethelene E. (Wilkins) Collins, 87 of Haverhill passed away on July 25, 2026 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Ethelene was born in Arcola, North Carolina on October 14, 1938 to Ashton and Daisy (Williams) Wilkins and was a graduate of John R. Hawkins High School, Class of 1957. She loved the years she spent working as staff at The Deluxe Ocean Front Motel and Cottages at OOB in Maine and also worked for many years in healthcare as a home health aide. Ethelene had a beautiful voice and loved singing; she also enjoyed traveling throughout the country – especially New England, sailing at Old Orchard Beach, going to Maine, the ocean, and the mountains. Spending time with the grandkids and the family always came first, and she will be dearly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Ethelene is survived by her son Michael Wilkins and his wife Michelle of Haverhill, and her daughter Phyllis Stover of Haverhill. She also leaves behind her sisters Josephine Ford and Sarah Ashburn; her grandchildren Janelle M. Wilkins, Jesse M. Wilkins, Scither M. Collins, Damien M. Little, Cerenidy A. LaRoche and Abagail D. LaRoche; great grandchildren Itreus, Elysida, and Mariela; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Phillip Collins, her brothers Ashton Wilkins, Jr., Earl Wilkins, and Eddie Wilkins, and her sisters Thelma Lee-Wilson, Mary Tallerson, and Marie Parker.
