HAVERHILL – Jean F. (Crepeau) Gates, 85, passed away on October 11, 2026 at Boston Medical Center, Brighton.
Jean was born in Haverhill on November 18, 1940, she was the daughter of Henry and Eleanor (Buccini) Crepeau and was a graduate of Haverhill High School , after which she studied at Northern Essex Community College. Jean worked at various professions locally for many years, eventually retiring from Lucent Technologies. She enjoyed going to classic car shows and traveling with her husband George to the Caribbean and Alaska, and spending several winters in Florida. Jean will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Jean is survived by her husband George A. Gates of Haverhill, and her sons George B. Gates of Danvers, and Bruce Gates of Haverhill, and her daughters Suzanne Martin of Haverhill, and Raelene Corcoran and her husband John. She also leaves behind her brother Albert Crepeau and his wife Brenda of Groveland; and her grandchildren: Nicholas Martin, Jessica Martin, Corey Sheehan, Patrick Sheehan, Kile Gates, and Nicole Colwell; and great grandchildren:: Jack Martin, Wells Martin, Yannet Martin, Radley Martin, Mickey Colwell, Cecil Colwell, and George Colwell; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Henry Crepeau, Raymond Crepeau, and Roland Crepeau.
