Merrimac – Mary Anita Shirley (Ouellette) Cordeiro, 86, of Merrimac passed away peacefully on October 30, 2026 at her home.
Anita was born in Salem, MA on September 10, 1940; one of fourteen children, she was the daughter of Wilfred and Irene (Blanchard) Ouellette and attended Salem schools. Anita was a fantastic cook and when not working enjoyed camping in Maine and family gatherings. She worked as a hairdresser in Georgetown and Bradford at Mr. Wayne’s and Personal Touch. Anita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who loved her family and was the best Nana in the world.
Anita is survived by her husband Joseph J. Cordeiro of Merrimac, her daughters Kathleen Lavallee and her husband Robert of Bradford, MA, and Vicki Ryder of Merrimac, and her stepson Anthony Cordeiro and his wife Viviana of Boulder City, NV. She also leaves behind her son in laws Warren George of Epping , NH and Calvin Archambault of Plaistow, NH; and twelve grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughters Debra Archambault and Tina George.
