Matthew J. “Matty” Giangregorio

Matthew J. “Matty” Giangregorio, 40, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.

Matty was born in Boston on January 23, 1986. He was the beloved son of Ralph and Linda (Publicover) Giangregorio. 

He was a graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, Class of 2004.

Matty was an excellent chef and spent many years cooking at Not Your Average Joe’s. He also ran the cafeteria at UMass Lowell. He took great pride in his work and loved bringing people together through food.

Matty loved life. He was adventurous, always ready for the next experience, and had an incredible sense of humor. He was always telling jokes and making the people around him laugh. Matty had a way of lighting up every room he walked into, and he always tried to see the best in every situation. He will be remembered for his big personality, kind heart, infectious laughter, and the love he had for his family. Most of all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, son, brother, and uncle.

Matty is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly Giangregorio; his father, Ralph Giangregorio and his wife, Jane, of Haverhill , MA; and his mother, Linda Conti and her husband, Mark, of Beaver Falls, PA. He is also survived by his in-laws, Kathy and Freddy, who loved Matty dearly and were a constant source of love and support throughout his life.

He is also survived by his brother, Ralph J. Giangregorio Jr. and his wife, Bailey, of Bradford; his brother, Michael Giangregorio and his fiancée, Karla, of Bradford; his sister, Lindsey Hogan and her husband, Jeff, of Cape Coral, FL; his stepbrother, David Carresi, of Haverhill; his stepsisters, Nina Carresi and Tara DaCosta and her husband, John, of Lowell; and his step-siblings, Kevin and Jackie Conti of Monaca, PA, and April and Jeromy Dean of New Castle, PA.

He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, Anthony, Lorenzo, Sophia, and Jaxson; along with many other loving nieces and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts. He was predeceased by his nephew, Vito.

Matty will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories, laughter, and love he gave will remain in the hearts of those who loved him forever. His family finds comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain and can finally rest peacefully.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, August 18th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.

A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 19th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church, St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill.
