MERRIMAC – Melissa “Missey” Thomson, 48, of Merrimac, MA passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026 at her home in Merrimac.
Missey was born in Framingham on January 7, 1978 to Kevin Thomson and Rosemary (Harber) Carver and was a graduate of Antioch High School, Class of 1996 and later went on to study at Los Medanos Community College in Pittsburg, California. She worked for 16 years as a surgical technician at Anna Jaques Hospital until her retirement due to her illness. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and aunt.
Missey is survived by her son Theodore N. Thomson, her father Kevin P. Thomson of West Lebanon, NH, and her mother Rosemary (Thomson) Carver and her husband Dale of Klamath Falls, OR. She also leaves behind her brothers Kevin “K.C.” Thomson and his partner Mary Beth Iocco of Auburn, and Andrew “Dewey” Thomson and Melissa Lei-Thomson of Lebanon, NH, her sisters Ann Thomson and Robert Ahern of Haverhill, Kathleen St. Amand and Dustin of Nottingham, and Rebecca Griffith and Gene of Antioch, CA; as well as her caregiver Joanna Carey and niece Julia Ahern, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

I can not express how much your passing is felt, not only by me but by everyone whose lives you have ever touched. You were a great friend and always knew how to lift someone’s spirits. Even when you were not feeling well you found a way to remain positive. Your laugh was infectious and I will miss it. I hope that you are dancing on the big pole in the sky carefree and with glee. Missey was truly the coolest. There really is no better way to describe her. She was completely one of a kind, unforgettable, and someone I always looked up to. Through my friendship with her lil sis Katie, Missey became like a big sister to me and their family became my family. She raised the most incredible son in Teddy, which says so much about the woman and mother she was. I’m honestly at a loss for words knowing she is gone. I feel so lucky to have known and loved her, and I will miss her always. ❤️
