Normand Martin, 63, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, surrounded by the love of his family. Normand was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and coworker whose presence and love touched so many lives.
Normand was born in Haverhill, on July 23, 1962 to Joseph R. and Marie (Duchemin) Martin. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1980 and worked for 48 years as the Director of Facilities and Planning for Market Basket.
Normand will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Suzanne J. (Gates) Martin of Haverhill, his son Nicholas Normand Martin and his partner TainaMontalvo-Teller of Long Beach, Long Island, NY, and his daughter Jessica Jean-Marie Martin of Haverhill. He also leaves behind his brothers Paul Martin and his wife Denise and Robert Martin and his wife Laura; and his grandchildren Radley Normand Martin, Jack N. Martin, Wells T. Martin, and Yanett Sanchez.
Normand shared 43 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Suzanne. Together they built a beautiful life raising a family. From a young age, they worked side by side creating a life centered around love, hard work, family, and the memories they made together.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Normand began his career at Demoulas/Market Basket at just 14 years old. Through years of commitment and perseverance, he built a remarkable career. His strong work ethic, leadership, and loyalty were evident in everything he did. Over the years, he formed countless friendships and meaningful connections with coworkers who became like family to him.
Outside of work, Normand loved to travel and treasured time spent at his lake house in Ossipee, New Hampshire. He especially enjoyed family trips with his children and their families, creating memories together that he cherished deeply. Those moments made all of the hard work worthwhile. He found joy in life’s simple moments — being with family, relaxing by the lake, and spending time on his beloved tractor.
Normand was a proud grandfather and deeply loved by his grandsons, Jack, Wells, and Radley, who brought endless happiness to his life. And he shared a special relationship with his granddaughter Yanett. He was also a devoted brother, sharing an especially close bond with his siblings. Growing up and living just down the road from one another throughout their lives created a connection filled with countless memories and lifelong love.
Normand also dedicated himself to serving his community through involvement with the school board and finance board of Saint Joseph School. Where his children, himself and his parents all attended school.
He was also deeply loved by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and coworkers, all of whom will miss his kindness, dedication, humor, and generous heart.

My Heart breaks for the entire Martin Family during this difficult time.
Suzanne, Nicholas and Jessica,
We were so sorry to hear of Norman’s passing. May the love and memories you shared with him comfort you in the days and weeks ahead.
Norman’d was one of my favorite customers to call on while working for National Grid. He could be tough, but always started our conversations with wanting to know how things were going, always ended them with a thank you, and at the end of every storm, once power was restored to all stores affected, I’d receive a “thumbs up” emoji via text message. Thank you Normand for your friendship! I extend my most sincere condolences to the Martin family , and to Normand’s Market Basket family. Rest in eternal peace my friend. 🙏🏻🩷👍
So very sorry for the families loss. Normand was a friend at TPP Friday night bingo games. He was always happy and enthusiastic for Wilbur the Pony when he won his race. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
RIP 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Normand was more than a valued customer. He was a wonderful, caring person and I valued his friendship.. I loved our chats about our families, what the kids were doing, his love for Suzanne and what was happening in the world. I shall miss our talks, the compassion he always showed me during our business meetings and phone calls, the jokes he loved to play on me through the years. My heart goes out to Suzanne and the entire family including his Market Basket family. May his memory always be a blessing.
Rest In Peace, Paps. We love you.

My sincere condolences to the Martin family. I had the great pleasure of working with Normand for over 35 years as one of the many vendors that he was so loyal to when building new stores. We had many a meeting at the RMD office discussing the future and the importance of quality and price. I was so sad to hear of his passing and will always cherish our relationship.
