AT & T (Western Electric) for 30 years, from 1957 until 1987, where he met his wife Josephine, after which he owned and operated his own tax service. He enjoyed travel, playing golf and bridge; and although he was a Boston sports fan, he was an avid New York fan supporting the Mets, Knicks, Giants and Rangers. Richard was a good dancer, loved jazz music, and had a great sense of humor. His favorite TV shows were Get Smart, Hogan’s Heroes, Barney Miller and Cheers. He loved games of all kinds, and was always up for a game of Monopoly or Sorry any time his grandchildren visited.  Richard was very involved in the community over the years serving on the Board of Directors of the Merrimac Valley Federal Credit Union and the Groveland Finance Committee, was a member of the Sons of Italy, and volunteered at the YMCA and the Hale Hospital.

Richard is survived by his wife Josephine E. (Marino) Edelmann of Groveland, his son Stephen P. Edelmann and his wife Karen of Haverhill, his son Richard J.
