Robert A. Birdsall, 81, husband of Brenda (Flavin) Birdsall of Atkinson, NH passed away on May 13, 2026 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Robert was born on June 27, 1944 in Rockland, Maine to Robert A. and Leah (Matthews) Birdsall and was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1962. He worked for over 30 years as a Lineman for Verizon. When he wasn’t working, Robert enjoyed working on vintage cars and going to car shows, and was known as a jack of all trades. He was a talented handyman and after retirement built Happy Hollow Campground on Province Lake in East Wakefield, NH. Robert was always doing projects for himself and others – electrical, plumbing, or carpentry for anyone who needed help. He was outgoing, a good Samaritan and a long term member of the Masonic Lodge in Reading. Robert will be remembered as a loving husband and a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle.
Robert is survived by his wife Brenda (Flavin) Birdsall of Atkinson, NH, his sons James Boutin and his wife Laurie of Oakham, MA, Matthew Birdsall of Haverhill, Michael Birdsall of Sandown, NH, and his daughters Laura M. Hanson and her husband Paul of Groveland, and Lisa Birdsall of Florida. He also leaves behind his sister Cheryl Birdsall of Manchester, NH, sister in law Linda Ferrick and her partner David Lucey of Haverhill, and sister in law Debra Scavotti and her husband Bainbridge of Haverhill, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John Birdsall.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, May 26th from 10AM until 1PM, followed by a funeral home chapel service at 1PM at the Kevin B. Bob you will be greatly missed!! You were always there for me when I needed something to make or if my car broke down, if I had a problem with electric.. You knew how to make or fix anything! I’ll move as you forever and may you rest in eternal peace..
I am so sorry to all his friends and family for your loss, he was a great man, I have been friends with his daughter Laura for about 20 years, and she loved and respected her dad! BBrenda and family my deepest sympathies and condolences in your loss. I have great memories of Bob at NET-VZ many years ago. But mostly of the ski trips we went on in the 80’s. Bob could rip it up…well he gave it his best…..A great guy he will be missed by all who knew him..RIP Bob.
