Sarah A. (Malta) McGuirk, 85, passed away on May 8, 2026 at her home in Haverhill.
Sarah was born in Revere on April 17, 1941 the daughter of Joseph and Domenica (Catanuso) McGuirk. She was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1959. She then went on to get her degree in Education from Salem State University and worked as an Elementary School teacher for 25 years in Merrimac. She also tended bar at the Yacht Club and worked as a waitress at Captain Chris. Sarah enjoyed gardening, cooking, and going to the beach. She was close with her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Sarah is survived by her son John W. McGuirk of Salisbury, and her daughters Valerie M. McGuirk of Hampton Falls, NH, and Terry LePage of Ipswich. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Justin McGuirk and his partner Jessica, and Corey McGuirk and Molly McAuliffe. She was predeceased by her brother Vincent Malta.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, May 14th from 4PM until 7PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. My closest neighbor and friend. We had a lot of good and bad times together with dancing, gambling , eating and arguing. She will be missed by family and friends. She was loved. She is in my prayers.
